Chevron Wrapping Paper

I am so pleased to have discovered pink chevron wrapping paper from Absolutely Beautiful Things.  How adorable, especilly at only $4.95/roll.  I'm pretty sure Walmart and Target sell wrapping paper for less, but why not give your money to someting prettier and support an entrepreneur??

Lilly Pulitzer Fabrics

Everygirl in the south loves Lilly Pulitzer.  For someone who is not only obsessed with Lilly style, but also beautiful fabrics, a girl can certainly max out a credit card to get a hold of these.  The designs are released under Lee Jofa and can all be viewed here.

Lilly Pulitzer prints are so girly and fun, but still give off that vintage feeling from the early 60's Jackie-O era. I love how they all mix together and completely abandon all design rules.  It's kindof similar to Rachel Zoe's "more is more" motto.

Fabric Find

I love when I come across beautifully styled rooms, and its even better when I come across the fabrics that help make them look that way!!

I found this fabric at Fabric.com for only $7.48/yard.  It is a Premier Prints fabric made of 100% cotton.  I actually just bought a bunch to make slip covers for some chairs I bought from World Market (those pics will be posted soon)!

All I can do is pin and blog while I try to get better from this awful virus going around, and when I came across this little pumpkin muffin on Spearmint Baby I just had to repost.  How adorable is she???

Halloween Weekend

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and my hubby and I happily joined in the festivities.  Because I'm 28 weeks pregnant, my costume options are limited.  I decided to be resourceful and make my own costume as a blow fish.  It only made sense since my belly is getting bigger by the second.  By hot gluing golf tees and googly eyes on the abdominal section of one my maternity shirts, I was ready to party hardy all night, well at least until 11pm when the ginger ale ran out.

My hilarious hubby decided he would be Stephen Garcia, former quarterback of The Carolina Gamecocks.  When you read former quarterback, I should mention that he was released just a week or so ago for violating his obligations of staying sober.

Amazingly we decided to get up early this morning and head up to Charlotte to visit Ikea.  We only have 12 more weeks until our little bundle of joy is here.  Thankfully we got a crib and dresser set for him that will work for his tiny room.  We are still undecided if we should get a leather chair we saw so we will probably end up heading back up there in a few weeks.  Here is how we ended up today.  Not too bad, right?

Ali Ro Dress

I'm so into Ali Ro it's not even funny.  I want this dress so badly, but I know my hubby would flip because, well, it's expensive and I'm super pregnant right now.  They are also offering 25% off until November 11th if you buy from their direct website.

sarah pinto

I love these weekly calendars and notebooks I came across at sarah pinto's online shop.  They are perfectly affordable and adorable!  The planners are only $20.00 and the notebooks are on sale for only $5.00.  Some of her proceeds even go to Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford because her son was born with a heart defect.

Pink Peonies

The hubs and I watched the finale of Rachel Zoe last night.  Weirdly it has become our Tuesday tradition, mostly because Rachel and Roger were pregnant this season just as we are now, and he found their dynamic pretty entertaining.  He can also get crabby just like Roger sometimes, and I swear my husband loves being around gay guys because they can be drop dead HILARIOUS.  He'll never admit that, but I know it's true.  Anyhow, I was so excited to see her assistant Jeremiah put together a small arrangement of pink peonies.  I DIE for pink peonies and my husband never even knew.  I don't know if they're in season, but maybe he learned his lesson and I'll get them for our anniversary coming up????

Walls- Savings Time!

I've thought heavily about wallpapering my bathroom or my narrow entry way.  It was like the Lord telling me to go ahead and do it when I found that Walls was hosting 15% off Nov. 1-5th.  Look how gorgeous these rooms are.

Getting Ready For Fall

South Carolina weather can change on you in a flash. Here is a look you can wear this season to help balance the temperature fluctuations.  I would pair a black turtle neck for colder days, or a short sleeve white T-shirt for warmer days.

Black and White

I've always loved black and white stripes.  They create a simple, yet very stylish look. You can also use any color to accent the space.  Let's face it, sometimes we go through our pink phase, or our turquoise phase, or our red phase at Christmas.

You can even have these stylish drapes on a budget.  I found these at Fabric.com again for a bargain.

My Fabric Room

My favorite room in my house is my fabric room.  I have a huge fabric board where I display all of my favorites, most of which I stock to make skirts.  One of my favorite materials is dupioni silk, which is on the mannequin in blue.  I give the mannequin a different look for inspiration about once every week.  Right now I'm 26 weeks pregnant and can't really wear any of my skirts.  Sad, right?  They are so beautiful.

Bemz Slipcovers

I'm such an IKEA lover, and now I'm a Bemz lover!  They create inexpensive slip covers for IKEA furniture with an incredibly unique fabric selection.  Let's face it, slipcovers are the quintessential solution for redecorating on a budget, especially if you're like me and want to change things up practically every other week.

After months of editing and picking the right fabrics for my first skirt line, I have finally decided on these 16 below.  I loooove each fabric and tried to give a thorough representation of my style and what every girl should feel comfortable wearing.  Whether you feel dressy or casual, sexy or conservative, each skirt design has you covered!

Fabric Alternatives

Domino Magazine featured this home last year and everyone practically fell in love with the beautiful magenta fabric used on the couch.  I mean, who wouldn't??  It's bright, pink, geometric, and totally grabs anyone's attention, immediately.

Lee Jofa stunningly designed it, and while it is 100% linen, I've read that pictures do not do it justice.  I live in South Carolina and can't justify spending the requested $82.60/yard for it, so I've looked to alternatives.  Fabric.com is one of my favorite fabric stores.  You can type any search words, like geometric, pink, linen, and hundreds of fabrics appear.  I came across the citron fabric pictured below and naturally it was a reasonable price.  While it's made of 100% cotton, it is much more affordable at only $8.48/yard.  I ordered some last month, and I think I'll use it for an OOAK skirt on Oh Sweet Charm or for my sewing room chair, which has yet to come in from World Market, ugh!  It has been listed as a "last chance" buy for weeks, but somehow keeps reappearing.  I'm not sure of it's long term availability, but it is a great alternative to Lee Jofa's, none the less.

Pink and Orange/Red

Soo... Do pink and orange-red go together?  I've been pondering because I found this fabric I want to use for my skirts.

I love pink and orange-red together.  We've been told they don't work together all our lives, but I think they do.  Especially if you pair them with cute gold accessories.  I particularly like this outfit I found while shopping blazers.  Blazers go so well with my skirts.  They become more work appropriate.

Cocktail Dresses

Not only do these colors work beautifully together, but the fabrics do also.  The bodice is made of wool and the skirt is made of silk satin.  This dress has that 50's and early 60's glamour.  FABULOUS!  It is designed by Gaimbattista Valli and yours for only $3,995.00!  A girl can dream right?

Jealousy Alert

So... I came home early from a friend's birthday celebration, hormonally pregnant, had the worst work week EVER, and just wish I could relax.  This needs to be my to-do list for the next month...
